The coronavirus crisis affects everyone in the community: young and old, healthy or not so fit. Apart from worrying about symptoms, the uncertainty we all face creates stress and anxiety for ourselves, friends and family.
We all know how important it is to keep active in times like these. Exercise is a vital antidote to stress and a boost for the body’s immune system, and on this basis, I have decided that The Club should remain open until the authorities tell us to close. In this way, I hope that we can continue to offer support to our members who want to keep active and enjoy their normal health benefits during what looks like being a very challenging and stressful time.
We are being super careful about cleaning. In addition to our normal cleaning routine, we have implemented a thorough programme of disinfection for all our machines and gym equipment, and we’re doing it
continuously throughout the day.
Small is beautiful
Being a small gym we have none of the crowding associated with larger gyms. This is a bonus when we are all being extra-careful about close contacts. Our Personal Trainers are continuing to work with clients in the gym, so please do come and enjoy your regular workout and feel the benefits.
Many of our classes are also continuing to run: although Pilates and Yoga classes have paused, Zumba, Legs Bums and Tums, Callanetics and AbSolutions are continuing as normal. You can find more details on our
Facebook page or our website – or give your class leader a call direct to get the latest update.
We are currently looking at ways to support members who wish to switch to exercising at home. We hope to produce some practical guides sent via email, and facilities such as FaceTime. Skype and Zoom may also help us here. We’ll keep you in touch with developments via email.
Like all small businesses, The Club faces challenges during this critical time. For as long as we are able we will continue to support you in your efforts to stay active, stay healthy and stay safe.
